In light of this relaunch of the Another Thursday website we launched a beautiful campaign called #unforgottenstory. I’ve said this before and I’ll always keep saying this. I love the old. I love the stories behind the past, the good, the bad, the romantic. Especially vintage clothing pieces and accessories. They represent a persons past life. They didn’t give this piece away because they were done with the story, but to continue it with the next beautiful soul.

Here at Another Thursday, we wanted to include you in our relaunch especially our vintage shop launch, through this campaign. So, we created this campaign urging you to post a photo about a piece of clothing, jewelry, bag, ect. Along with the photo we wanted to hear the #unforgottenstory behind it. This could be about the sweater you meant your future husband in, a dress that’s been passed along your family for generations, and the list goes on and on. We just want to hear a story that will never be forgotten, and will live forever and ever.

It was so amazing to see this campaign flourish, and have many beautiful souls excited to participate. It means a lot at Another Thursday, and me especially to see a community of women support another in their next business endeavor. I urge you to read on and explore these unforgotten stories that will last from generation to generation, and of course I urge you to check out our curated vintage shop filled with timeless pieces. You can find the link here!

So happy to be a part of @theanotherthursday ’s #unforgottenstory campaign to celebrate the relaunch of their website! My Unforgotten Item is this beautiful coat. I bought it when I was in England in 2013 and had never worn it since! I am absolutely in love with it but it’s never cold enough in Australia to wear it! Now I’m in New York it can finally be showed off in all its glory. 🖤 #shopanotherthursday

Feeling ladylike ✨ I found my little Dior suit years ago thrifting with my mom, and at the time I wasn’t as into vintage style, but my mom made me try it on anyway. Am I ever thankful she did! It was like brand new, and fit perfectly. I don’t often wear it, but when I put it on it makes me feel so special. I can’t help but appreciate every little detail, like the silk lining and embroidered CD inside the blazer. 💫 Do you have any pieces that just make you feel good? #unforgottenstory #shopanotherthursday

My most treasured piece in my closet is my grandma’s vintage @chanelofficial purse. When she passed, we found it in her closet and every day I carry it, it’s like having a little piece of her with me ☺️💕#UnforgottenStory

The ambitious @theanotherthursday is relaunching her blog on March 7 and I’m so happy to be a part of her #unforgottenstory campaign!

My Unforgotten Story lives in this stunning slip dress that my aunt wore to my parents’ wedding in 1998! That’s 21 years of history (even though it spent most of those years in the back of a closet haha)! But I think it’s so cool to have a piece of clothing that existed during a time before me. I have yet to wear it to an event but to be honest I’m completely happy with lounging around in the house wearing it 😁 I’ve always loved playing dress-up and would pull together the most audacious, bizarre looks to strut around in at home 😭 Thank you for giving me an excuse to do that again and do a fun photoshoot 🖤 #shopanotherthursday (Also yes I know that you can see something in the background and it bothers me but plz ignore that lol)

Do you ever look at an item from your closet and think about all of the memories that came along with it? Where you were when you wore it. Who gave it to you. The moments you had with it. This vintage Gucci bag was my moms. I always think of her when I pick it up. I remember what it was like growing up with her, going through her bag and playing with her makeup haha. I’m such a sucker for accessories and she definitely loved hers. Miss you everyday ❤️ #unforgottenstory #shopanotherthursday

One of the reasons I love shopping second hand is the imagined stories behind the clothes, my mum picked up this vintage blazer for me as a testament to my shift in buying used. It means a lot to me that she listens to my values, and helps in supporting and nurturing them. I can only imaging the stories told by the people who wore it over the years. •

Do you have a piece in your closet with a special story?

#unforgottenstory (not in this picture) a brown blazer I found right at the back of my mums wardrobe last year, that she bought from a 90s boutique that shut down, with its oversized shoulder pads and detailed gold buttons I can imagine her running by around Nairobi looking chic as ever and I love that I can rock now with my current wardrobe. Thank you @theanotherthursday for allowing me to reminisce with the launch of your vintage boutique, I can’t wait to see what you have in store😊✨

Gypsy pirate is a look right?🧞‍♀️ This blazer reminds me so much of rummaging through my mom’s closet, looking for throwback pieces. Mostly because shoulder pads were a thing and this baby has them! Am I the only one who actually digs shoulder pads!? ✨ There’s something really special about wearing a piece your mom loved when she was your age, and I like pulling inspo from what caught her eye with fun pieces like this 🙌🏻💥// #unforgottenstory #shopanotherthursday

I have no filter, but contrary to popular belief I also do not have balls! Lets talk staple pieces!! I’m a huge lover of vintage hats, cardigans and jeans. Especially lately I feel that the vintage feel of mom jeans has made a comeback and I love that! I remember those commercials talking shit about mom jeans and me just automatically agreeing like a good little soldier. Well that view has obviously changed! My girl @theanotherthursday is as of today starting to sell affordable vintage pieces like what I’m wearing!! I can’t get enough of vintage anything, it’s kind of a big deal! #unforgottenstory #shopanotherthursday

@theanotherthursday is relaunching their website and I’m so pleased to be part of the campaign! So my unforgettable story behind this brown suit is it’s the first thrift shop/ charity shop item I ever bought. I fell in love with this suit instantly and I paid such a good price for it too 💃🏻 I remember putting it on for the first time and thinking, where I got it from and how much I paid for it wasn’t the first thing I thought about as I looked in the mirror. It was how good I thought it looked on and how the suit made me feel once I put it on, how well the suit expressed my personality. Because to be honest I was a little nervous that it wasn’t the latest trending suit from one of the most well known retailer.

From that day my perception of fashion changed, there’s more to fashion than keeping up with the latest trends, spending loads of money on clothes and keeping up with IG.
Fashion is also about feeling good in the clothes you are wearing no matter where they are from ❤️

Spending the evening organizing my jewelry, and admiring my grandmother’s class ring and gold bracelet that I was passed down. I will nevvvvvver sell any of my own gold pieces...I get chills just thinking about the women after me who will continue to tell my story just as I tell my grandma’s every single day ✨ My friend @theanotherthursday is re-launching her vintage shop and I encourage you all to give it a looksie— who knows whose story you may find & get to tell 💭 #unforgottenstory
